Sean O’Sullivan Qualifies for World Snooker Tour
We are delighted to report a highly successful outcome for Sean O’Sullivan at Q School 2026 Event 1, held at the Mattioli Arena in Leicester from 20–25 May 2026. Wytech proudly sponsored Sean for the event, where he won 5 matches to secure a two-year World Snooker Tour card for the 2026/27 and 2027/28 seasons. This marks his return to the professional tour after playing for a couple of years on the amateur circuit.
What is Q School?
Snooker Q School is the main qualifying pathway for amateur players (and former professionals) to earn a professional tour card on the World Snooker Tour (WST / Main Tour).
Q School is often described as one of the toughest routes onto the pro tour. Many current top players have come through it. It’s a high-pressure environment with the opportunity to win several matches in a row to earn a tour card or go home empty-handed.
Sean’s Q School 2026 Results
- Round 1: Strong start with a 4-0 victory over Tony Knowles.
- Round 2: 4-3 win over Rodion Judin. Sean played well from 2-0 down, making 2 frame winning breaks to turn the match around.
- Round 3: 4-3 win over Ryan Davies. He managed to fight back from 3-0 down.
- Round 4: 4-2 win over Nathan Jones. Sean played really well again from 2-0 down, making 2 century breaks (123, 107) to win 4 consecutive frames and the match.
- Final Round: 4-2 victory over Joshua Thomond. The match featured high tension in the final frame, where he had to pot the match ball twice after Thomond’s resilient comeback.

Reflection of the Event
We caught up with Sean after the event to ask him about his Q School 2026 experience.
Q School has a reputation for being the most gruelling event in the calendar that every snooker player dreads. Recently, I have been working to change my mindset, and I went into Q School this year feeling really positive.
I wanted to simply enjoy the occasion, even in that sort of high-pressure environment, no matter the outcome. I feel I managed to do this throughout the event, which paid off and I played some good stuff through each match to secure my tour card.
This achievement would not have been possible without Wytech’s support. The sponsorship provided stability that allowed me to focus entirely on preparation and performance. I was thrilled to represent Wytech for my Q School 2026 campaign, and I cannot thank them enough for their support.
I’m looking forward to the season ahead with my renewed professional status back on the World Snooker Tour.

Good Luck Sean
We are delighted to have followed and supported Sean in his quest to get back onto the main tour. It was a stressful time watching the scores on the WST site in real time, but that must have paled into insignificance compared to the pressure that Sean must have been feeling. We know it has been a difficult couple of years for Sean, but now he can hopefully relax and enjoy the next few years on tour.
We at Wytech wish him all the best and will be there to continue supporting him wherever we can.
